It should be a lovely summer evening in Forest Park.  Spamalot is playing at the Muny, and all of Saint Louis will be outside enjoy the long daylight hours of the summer solstice.  Let's confuse & terrify them.

5 Bucks will hare, and maybe find a bit of uncharted territory in the park.  It'll be hot, so you'll have a few chances to quench your thirst, and maybe get wet.

Eagle [true] trail should be 5 miles or less, and I'll probably have a turkey short-cut in there somewhere to get it under 4.

Start:  Parking lot for Forest Park Visitors' Center - Grand Drive & Cricket Drive.  Park in the back corner of the lot, by the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

Friendliness?:  Walkers will be fine; I'll make a map.  Dogs will be fine.  Trail itself is Lazy-friendly (though we'll need to do a bit of helping at the beer stop).

What to expect:  Beer, Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, Golfers, Beer Halts, Exponents, Charon, Witch testing.

 

What to bring:   $7.  Virgins.  A change of clothes & shoes.  A towel, if you're adventurous.  Coconuts.  A whistle to blow, or you suck.

D'erections:  Get a GPS, wanker.  If you're technologically challenged:

- From Chesterfield:  Take 64/40 E to McCausland north.  Make a right into the park on Lagoon Dr (becomes Grand Dr).  Park in the lot behind the Tennis Center on the right.

- From Sauget, IL (!):  Get on 64/40 W to Kingshighway (the one in Missouri, dumbass) and go north.  Turn left onto West Pine, then left onto Grand.  Lot's on the left.

- From St. Chuck:  Take 70 E to 170 S.  Take Forest Park Parkway East to DaBalievere South.  Go around the History Museum, and left onto Grand.   Lot's on the right.

- From the South (call it Mehlville):  Take 55 N to 44 W to Hampton N.  I'm not writing out all the turns in the park.  Alternately get off at Vandeventer, cut McRee Ave over to Kingshighway, and go north.  Turn left onto West Pine, then left onto Grand.  Lot's on the left.
