Five Bucks' Catch the Hare Hash @ Parking lot by Steinberg Skating Rink, in Forest Park

Nobody has written the Hash Trash yet...WHY ARE WE WAITING!?!?!

Directions:

Hare: Five Bucks, Five Bucks, Five Bucks... to start... Location: Parking lot by Steinberg Skating Rink, in Forest Park. Closest entrance is off Kingshighway near Barnes. Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/vzLsvXKTDpWtX2RU8 $7 hash cash Description: This week, we're going to play "Catch The Hare", and go back to our "Hounds and Hares" game roots that the hash was founded on. (There's a kennel in London that meets to play this once a month. Let's try it here!). I'll kick us off as the hare, to start, and take a 10 minute head-start (who said head?). Live trail, nothing pre-layed. But here's the catch: I'm planning on getting caught. [Really... it's OK... the world doesn't end when the hare gets caught.] WHEN I do get caught, the person who catches me becomes the new hare, and we'll give them 10 minutes while gathering the pack to set off again. I'm picking a very central & familiar location (Forest Park/CWE/Dogtown), so hopefully people shouldn't get themselves lost. Also, to keep things rotating, if you've been the hare for 30 minutes, STOP right where you are and let the pack catch you. I'll have a very full hare-bag packed with chalk, flour, and TP. If you become hare, remember the goal is that the pack actually follows you, so lay ample marks and don't hide them. Again, it's OK to get caught. We'll aim to be back at circle about 90 minutes after "hare's-away!" so if you've got the bag, and you cross the 45-50 minute mark, think about where you are, and start thinking how close you are to the start and consider how we'll get back. Get lost as hare? Just stop and let the pack catch you. Get tired? Walk. Here's the one downside to this format: no beer stop. BUT I'll try to make this up to you in two ways. (1) I'm going to try to predict the point I stop and get caught, and set an "optional beer halt" at the first point the pack will gather (the new hare can leave without drinking). (2) We're gonna get back at a very efficient time to drink circle beer. Things you MIGHT see on trail (but who knows... I'm only setting the first part): the hare; 5 Bucks's big hare-y sack; turtles and other wild animals; doctors; "Mary Poppins, Y'all!"; the Plane'arium; Gophers! Kill all the gophers!; water hazards; paddle boats; the family Jewel Box. On-After: probably something in the Tamm Ave & Clayton cluster in Dogtown (Seamus/Nomad/Heavy Riff/Felix, etc), depending on time left and mood of the group.
